8th Asturianu Film Festival pays tribute to actor Frank Braña
8th ANNUAL FESTIVAL DE CINE ASTURIANU
Dedicated to asturian actor Frank Braña
Actor Frank Braña a huge figure in the world of cinema will be honored at the 8th edition of the ASTURIANU FILM FESTIVAL. The tribute will delivered at a Gala of Asturian Cinema Awards on April 17, 2013 at the Teatro Filharmonica in Oviedo. The actor could not receive the Premiu d'Honor of the Asturianu Film Festival during his life who died in 2012 at age 78 after a lengthy career as an actor in which he appeared in some 170 films shown worldwide and died before he was able to receive the homage at this Festival. Therefore the Asturianu Film Festival will hold for the first time this 8th edition a posthumous tribute, the tribute planned initially to offer its Honored Figure the customary role of giving the top awards of the Festival.
Frank Braña was born in La Puela d'Allande in 1934 and after a modest beginning as an actor in films and stunt specialist grew into a myth of cinema in action movies, adventure and western. One of the last films of Frank Braña was a role in the short film "Carla" a Prada film nominee movie at the Asturianu Film Festival a few years ago.
Asturianu Film Festival invites all movie lovers to attend and participate in this 8th Asturian Film Awards and also join Asturias deserved tribute to this great recently deceased actor.
